Gonioscopy
Gonioscopy is indispensable for glaucoma examination. The function is to evaluate the anterior chamber angulation (iris-cornea attachment angle)with a special lens, called a gonioprism, after the administration of anaesthetic drops to the eye. With this examnation technique, scleral spurs, trabeculaar network and the iris structures in this conjoined area are evaluated and according to whether the angle is open or closed, the type of glaucoma is diagnosed.
